The UN’s 2023 theme for Youth Day is “Green Skills for Youth: Towards a Sustainable World“, along with a campaign inviting each of us to celebrate how “#YouthLead as agents of change” for the UN’s global sustainable development goals.
Recommend eco skills, activities, and resources for youths of different ages (from kids to teens). Celebrate inspiring young environmental activists making an in your local community or worldwide. Share the world of your favorite young social & environmental activists and ask your community to share theirs.
August 19th: World Humanitarian Day
#WorldHumanitarianDay
“On 19 August 2003, a bomb attack on the Canal Hotel in Baghdad, Iraq, killed 22 humanitarian aid workers, including the UN Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Iraq, Sergio Vieira de Mello.” (via the UN) World Humanitarian Day commemorates this horrific event while also advocating “for the survival, well-being, and dignity of people affected by crises, and for the safety and security of aid workers” (un.org).
Show your support and gratitude towards the incredible people continuing to do humanitarian work to save & protect lives. Discuss the different types of humanitarian actions each of us can take. Highlight humanitarians in your local community, humanitarian organizations, books written by or quotes from inspiring humanitarians, …
August 19th: World Photography Day

Celebrate your favorite photographers who celebrate and advocate for sustainability, diversity, equality, etc. through their work, a photograph that speaks to you and your brand, or a photo that best captures your business and its conscious values.
